Is electricity consumption saving the only aspect of Nexd's sustainability?

Activities Covered for Avoided Emission: The main sustainability saving comes from the fact that our technology significantly reduces the weight of creatives thanks to our unique WebGL-based technology. However, as Nexd’s ad serving is also provided by a partner that uses renewable energy, we can say that our ad serving in total is CO₂ neutral.

Is CO₂ the only Green House Gas included in the sustainability savings calculation? Or does it also include N₂O and CH₄?

Types of Greenhouse Gases Covered: As our sustainability calculations are based on Scope3 data, this is dependent on their sources that are research papers. They are fairly confident that the data they use cover CO₂ equivalents as it is the norm to cover all GHGs. It is also worth noting that both methane and nitrous oxide are having material impact in sectors like agriculture and waste, while in our sector CO² is having the biggest impact,

Are the savings mainly coming from end users' devices?

Equipment Considered for Avoided Emissions: Nexd considers a broader range of equipment beyond the end consumer’s smartphone. This includes data centers and servers that support ad delivery, which thanks to our creative weight being lighter, consume less energy (in case of video up to 10x lighter). Due to the aforementioned factors, our ads use less energy from the end user device battery.

How do Nexd's creatives get light enough to save data?

We have a proprietary algorithm that uses WebGL-based technology and uses GPU as a processing source that allows the creatives to become 2-10x lighter.
