Unpublish tags

Feature to stop your ad from serving in exceptional circumstances.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The "Unpublish" feature lets you stop ad serving in exceptional situations.
While NEXD doesn’t handle your campaign’s media buying and we always suggest managing traffic and flight dates through your DSP or platform, there might be times when that’s not possible—especially if multiple teams are involved in the campaign setup.

In those cases, you can use the "Unpublish" feature to take the ad offline. This means the tag will become unavailable for display, and no more impressions will be recorded in the Campaign Manager.

This feature is currently not available to everyone. To gain access, please contact your Account Manager or reach out to [email protected].

Steps to Unpublish a Creative Tag:

  1. Navigate to the campaign containing the creative you wish to unpublish.

  2. Open the creative.

  3. Click the Unpublish button.

  4. Confirm the action in the pop-up window.

What Happens When You Unpublish:

  • When the tag is called out by the DSP, a 404 error will be returned, and the creative will become unavailable for display.

  • This action only affects Nexd ad serving and associated costs. To avoid additional costs, such as trafficking or media-buying fees, make sure to update your settings in your DSP or trafficking platform.

  • All previously collected analytics will remain available on the platform. The creative and all its assets will also stay accessible.

  • You can re-export the creative if needed and its analytics will continue to collect data as usual.

Remember, this is only for exceptional circumstances. Always when possible, stopping the ad from serving, should be done from the DSP.
