Invalid Quotation Marks

How to make sure you're using the correct quotation marks in your NEXD Campaign Manager tag and how to fix them if you're not

Updated over 4 years ago

When copying and pasting text, some operating systems may change quotation marks to letter quotes. The difference is hard to see, but it makes a big difference.

Example

Quote marks get changed from " to " or โ€œ.

Why?

In the web environment, these quote marks are seen as invalid characters, breaking any code they appear within. The correct quote marks are used to define a value for an option or property.

How To Fix It

Request a test link and double check the marks. Alternatively, you can use the updated NEXD Campaign Manager tag.

The new tag format is protected against the quote mark error.

You can view this error in the Chrome Developer Inspect Console fairly easily.
