Asset Editor: Add text and shapes to your creative

Learn how to create simple visual elements in Nexd CM using the Asset Editor, including text overlays, CTA buttons, labels, and background shapes.

Updated yesterday

The Asset Editor lets you quickly create simple visual elements without leaving Nexd CM. For example you can create:

  • Call-to-action buttons (Shop Now, Learn More)

  • Promotional labels (-30%, New, Limited offer)

  • Simple shapes behind text to improve readability

Example outputs:

  • A CTA button

  • A discount badge

How to use the Asset Editor

Open the Asset Editor

  1. In your creative, find an asset slot.

  2. Click Create in Asset Editor.

Add layers

Use the toolbar to add:

  • Rectangle

  • Ellipse

  • Text

Select a layer to edit it in the right panel:

  • Position: X (horizontal) & Y (vertical) coordinates

  • Size: Width & Height

  • Styles

    • Text: font, size, color, line height, alignment, opacity

    • Shapes: fill color, opacity, border width & color, corner radius

Layer order and delete

Right-click a layer in the Layers list to:

  • Bring to front / Send to back

  • Delete the layer

Multi-select layers

You can select multiple layers and move/resize them together (so they behave like one unit).

  • Select layers in the Layers list using Shift.

  • Drag on the canvas to move the selection.

Fixed positioning

For some overlay placements (e.g., interstitial/interscroller overlays), you’ll see Fixed positioning in the right panel.

  • This setting applies to the whole asset (all layers together).

  • Fixed positioning uses exact pixel coordinates and disables automatic offsets caused by browser bars or safe areas.

Save

Click Save to apply the asset to your creative.

After you save

  • The created asset is saved to your Asset Library as a PNG (named after the asset slot, e.g. overlay-cta.png).

  • You can also add it to your Team Library to reuse it in other creatives.
